CLIENT: A facilities company with a small technical team and quickly growing client base was looking to take advantage of advances in AI to streamline their work.

WHAT WE DID: We partnered with the CEO and CTO to assess buy-vs-build options for computer vision tools to automate their existing workflows. We mapped out the problem, connected them with computer vision experts, and identified areas where they could reduce overhead of their data management, analysis methods, and software infrastructure.

IMPACT: Our recommendations ranged from infrastructure upgrades to specific use cases for machine learning models to augment human work (e.g. image annotation) to deliver significant time savings and allow for rapid scaling of the client’s overall business.

CLIENT: A tech-enabled healthcare startup, with a very small (<3 FTE) data team lacked experience putting data to use in products and business decision-making.

WHAT WE DID: Working directly with the VP of Data & Product Operations, we moved the team from 0 to 1 on a number of projects: the first predictive model trained on their own historical user data, the first evaluation and integration of 3rd-party vendor data to improve power, and the first repeatable pipeline for building simple models to answer relevant business questions.

IMPACT: The team is now positioned to leverage their existing data, evaluate new data sources, and, most importantly, they now have components in place for future analytic work.

CLIENT: This small data & technology consultancy needed to quickly ramp up hiring in order to meet the growing needs of a major customer.

WHAT WE DID: We worked with the company’s COO to define technical roles (including leveling), streamline their overall recruiting processes, design new interviews to replace outdated ones, and train the team on interviewing, especially in assessing technical skills.

IMPACT: Our work resulted in 15 new onboarded hires within 6 months, across a range of data-related roles: Data Scientist, Senior Data Scientist, Lead Data Engineer, Senior Data Engineer, and Product Manager.
